Campus is once again alive with student energy following another spirited move-in weekend. Students and their families poured into Durham last Thursday and Friday as new and returning Wildcats got settled to officially kick off a new semester.

We were there to follow all of the action, and you can relive it through our series of videos, embedded here and linked below. Follow students as they enter their dorm room for the first time, take a room tour guided by two of Stoke Hall’s newest residents, discover how well a couple of new roomates really know each other, and hear some heartfelt messages from parents to their students as they settle in for their first day on campus.

A Weekend of Activity

Students were welcomed to campus in style over the course of four active days. They began moving in Thursday, Aug. 27, and from there the festivities turned to Wildcat Days, a weekend-long celebration that featured opportunities for students to explore campus, connect with fellow Wildcats, and prepare for the upcoming academic year.

The schedule included floor meetings in residence halls, a Friday night dinner in Holloway Commons Dining Hall with a carnival theme, and a Wildcat Bash in the Memorial Union Building (MUB). Colleges held individual welcome meetings Saturday afternoon, and that day's schedule was highlighted by a class photo and Cat Pack kickoff at Memorial Field and the Whittemore Center Arena, a resource fair on Thompson Hall Lawn, and a Find Your Fit gathering in the Hamel Recreation Center featuring the opportunity to learn more about Campus Recreation programs and Health and Wellness offerings.

The buzz is officially back on campus. Welcome home, Wildcats!
